Black Ash Basket Splint
Quality black ash basket splint is the key to making a basket that not only looks professionally made, but adds to longevity of the basket as well.
Black Ash Basket Splint is pounded from New England black/brown ash. I make & prepare all my own splint. Typically splint is split to satin on one side and sanded on the other, which was how the Shaker's prepared their basket splint. Though I offer a standard line, I can vary the thickness of the splint to meet your basket needs. The sanding process renders splint that is uniform in thickness, whether thick or thin, from one end to the other. I can also provide splint which is sanded on both sides for use in making larger utility baskets. Stock/Delivery
I do not keep "ready-to-ship" splint in stock unless special arrangements are made. Typically I have a large inventory of split-to-satin/non-sanded black ash available, so that I can quickly sand to thickness the splint according to your needs. Generally, I am able to ship most splint in 3-5 days, depending on the size of the order.
